Matoma Set to Play Nobel Peace Prize Concert

Tropical house may have stalled out, but its biggest producers continue to make big moves. From Kygo working with Selena Gomez to Thomas Jack exploring new genres, tropical house’s icons innovate beyond the genre.

Another producer who has blossomed beyond tropical house is Matoma, who will perform at this year’s Nobel Peace Prize Concert. This year marks the 24th year of concert in honor of the prestigious award ceremony, during which artists perform one or a medley of their songs. The concert will be held at the Telenor Arena in Oslo on December 11. Matoma said the following about his upcoming performance:

“I’m incredibly proud and honored to announce that I will be performing at this year’s Nobel Peace Pri ze Concert, I’ll be coming to Telenor Arena in Oslo on December 11 bringing some special guests, some surprises, and as always, some good vibes and love! The Peace Prize is all about spreading the love, and as you know that’s always been my message so I’m humbled and honored to be asked to perform at this beautiful and incredible concert.”

Matoma will join Alan Walker as two of the first EDM acts to ever play the concert. In 2014, Kygo was the first-ever EDM act to play, performing “Stole the Show” with Parson James, “Stay” with Maty Noyes, “Firestone” with Kurt Nilsen and his “Take On Me” remix with a-ha also performed the Major Lazer and DJ Snake-assisted “Lean On” in 2014, and pop-electronic crossover duo Icona Pop performed in 2015.
