It wasn’t that long ago that everyone thought SoundCloud was about to die. Various outlets reported conflicting information based on ex-employee testimony and hearsay; and even though SoundCloud co-founder Alex Ljung put up his own statement on the issue, the original author from TechCrunch who started it all was still adamant in his original position.
That being said, it seems that many people managed to overlook a video posted by SoundCloud this past Monday on Facebook, depicting what seems to be a new venture or vertical, called “Nextwave.”
Whatever Nextwave is, it seems to want to highlight the cities emerging out of the SoundCloud community. It teases a tag line, “6 cities. 6 months. LA. Rio. Toronto. NYC. London. Berlin. July 20 2017.”
We have no idea what this is, but it seems that all will be revealed tomorrow.
