We recently celebrated the first ever Electronic Music Awards, but the OG EMAs come in the form of MTV‘s Europe Music Awards.
This year the categories seem more stacked than ever, with arguably the most talked about people in popular music leading the nominations — Taylor Swift with six, including best artist and best video; Ed Sheeran and Kendrick Lamar with four each.
As for the electronic music category, there couldn’t be a tighter race between these heavy hitters: Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Major Lazer, Martin Garrix and The Chainsmokers. All the acts have had big years, so it’s no wonder they stand to represent the genre.
If we had to place our bets, The Chainsmokers might take this one home considering they are about to embark on their Euro Memories… Do Not Open tour in early 2018, and the EMAs might want to give them a warm welcome. The tour will hit up London, Paris, Berlin and more.
