Avicii Confirms New Documentary ‘True Stories’ Will Be Available on Netflix

Avicii‘s touring retirement is still fresh in a lot of our minds seeing as it wasn’t all that long ago (March 2016), but since then the Swedish superstar has kept himself busy with new music and even a documentary. True Stories was revealed to the public last month at an exclusive one-night-only viewing at 600 screens in just 40 countries.

Fortunately, if you didn’t manage to catch the flick you can turn to Netflix for that. Avicii shared the news that True Stories would be available on the streaming giant midway through the third episode of his radio show Avicii FM.

“I’m releasing my documentary this weekend…Levan [Tsikurishvili], who’s the director of the documentary, has followed me for the past four years I think, four or five years. He’s had so much material from both in the studio, from behind the scenes on concerts, during good and bad times. I’m really excited. I’m also a bit nervous because it is kind of gritty sometimes. It’s very personal. There’s a lot of ups and downs. It’s going to be interesting to see what people say. I think it’s going to be in a bunch of movie theaters and also on Netflix after that.”

No comment yet on when the film will be available on Netflix but here’s to hoping it’s sooner rather than later! Check out the nonchalant statement below from Avicii (starts 25 minutes in) plus the movie trailer below.
