The Chainsmokers didn’t make an appearance at this year’s MTV EMAs, but that didn’t stop them from taking home a huge award for the night!
This year, The Chainsmokers were up against some steep competition for the Best World Stage Award including Tomorrowland, Steve Aoki, Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters, and DNCE, but managed to come up on top. The award has been won in previous years by superstar acts including Linkin Park, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, and just last year Martin Garrix took it home.
2017 proved to be a huge year for The Chainsmokers — from their debut studio album, Memories… Do Not Open, to their stadium tour to accompany it. The electronic duo has certainly commanded attention in both pop and EDM, but to outdo something as massive as Tomorrowland is an an accomplishment in its own right.
The Chainsmokers will soon embark on their Euro Memories… Do Not Open Tour in Austria on February 10, 2018.
Congrats to The Chainsmokers!
Thank you @MTV #mtvemas and our fans for the best world stage award! Wish we could be there in london right now!
