The Chainsmokers have pretty much dominated Nielsen Music‘s Mid-Year dance/electronic chart, and whether you love ’em or love to hate ’em, there’s no denying they owned 2017 — at least, so far.
The duo’s debut album Memories… Do Not Open made for the most popular of the year, and garnered the top selling song overall with “Something Just Like This” featuring Coldplay. Additionally, The Chainsmokers have the top three most-streamed songs (audio and video combined) for 2017: “Closer,” featuring Halsey (318.3 million streams), followed by “Something Just Like This” (240.2 million streams) and “Paris” (228.9 million streams).
Even more impressively, The Chainsmokers’ 2016 Collage EP is still hanging on at #2 on the Top 10 dance/electronic albums, as their 2015 EP Bouquet clings to #8. Their streaming and selling power is absolutely insane.
The rest of the charts might surprise you — with big names like Zedd, Kygo, Calvin Harris, DJ Snake, Gorillaz and more falling short compared to The Chainsmokers.
