It’s hard to believe that the impeccable “Shelter” anime was released a full year ago – it’s even harder to believe that the last “Shelter” live show was already six months ago, but that’s the world we live in.
The massive collaboration between Porter Robinson and Madeon garnered massive critical praise and boosted the fan engagement of both artists, considering people had been wanting a collaboration from them for what seems like ever.
The anime for “Shelter” came out two months after the release of the single – though at the time, it seemed like the time between the two was much longer. The project was made in collaboration with A-1 Pictures and Crunchyroll, and features the story of Rin, “a 17-year-old girl who lives her life inside of a futuristic simulation completely by herself in infinite, beautiful loneliness.”
Watch “Shelter” again below, as well as the special behind the scenes video from Crunchyroll released last October.
