ER Productions Company Sets New Record For Largest Laser Show Ever

Lasers are a huge, huge part of dance music history. Even before pyrotechnics and CO2 blasts and spotlights, lasers (as well as strobes) were integral parts of the dance music experience. As technology has advanced and consumer demand has increased throughout the years, lasers have become more plentiful and more varied at shows.

At Live Design International (LDI) 2017, ER Productions set a new world record for largest laser show ever with 314 individual laser fixtures. The entire demonstration lasted around a half hour, but the video below shows the mind-blowing 7-minute closing sequence.

Over 12 UK tonnes of equipment – including 11km of cable – was used for the show, valued at around £2.6 million. It produced 1,377 watts of laser power; it took weeks to design and 72 full hours to set up.

Ryan Hagan, co-founder of ER Productions, said: “We are delighted to celebrate our tenth anniversary with such an incredible laser show and by making our way into the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS books. We’ve worked with many fantastic companies, events, and performers throughout the years but creating such a memorable showcase, that celebrates all we have achieved in the laser industry, has been a real highlight.”

ER Productions has designed laser systems and shows for clients including Calvin Harris, America’s Got Talent, Chemical Brothers, The X Factor, Metallica, Jaguar Land Rover, Katy Perry and former One Direction singer Zayn Malik.
