Who the f*ck is BB Hayes?

It all started 1985. While working as a bar back at "Faces Cafe" in Sunnyvale CA. One day the owner said they needed a happy hour DJ with personality and asked if he would be interested. “OK”, BB said. The owners said he sucked! But they loved his energy and BB vowed to master the art and in short fashion, he did just that. Two years later he was already playing Wednesday nights at San Jose’s famous DB Coopers for the male strip show. Soon, he was also playing Friday nights. This exposure landed him his first radio gig spinning for Hot 97.7's "Dancing Saturday Nights" mix show.
Working with a Tascam reel to reel and keyboard, BB began remixing songs for the radio station which caught the ear of the DJ Cameron Paul, who commissioned BB to create fresh remixes for his remix service called MIXX-IT. Soon other services like Wicked Mix were calling him too. Cameron then helped BB start his own service called Monster Mix. After seeing a new way to produce music using the Pro Tools digital editing software he started creating his own grooves with his Apple computer.
In 1994, he set his sights on San Francisco. While filling in for another DJ at San Francisco's DNA Lounge, the new owner, Actor Rob Schneider and his brother John were so impressed after hearing BB play, they offered him the weekend DJ position playing a mix of Disco, Modern, and Top 40. It was while in SF when BB found "Electronic Music" for the first time. He explains that it changed his life. It made him feel something different and new. It was underground music, not the commercial music he was so familiar with. In 1995 BB and his good friend Matthew Consola distributed "Go, Girl," a DJ remix CD featuring "House" music. It was a smash hit!
That same year BB landed a late night spot after his DNA set at the biggest late night party in San Francisco called "Release." Four years later in 1996, he was still pumping his unique style of house at 4 AM in the VIP room at "Release." In the years that followed, he continued to spin at many famous clubs and parties, like 2nd Sunday, 550 Barneveld, Hotel Ibiza, 1015 Folsom, and Oasis just to name a few.
In 1997 BB Hayes had auspiciously secured the resident DJ position for the grand opening of the now famous "Ruby Skye!" BB's style of house music set the standard for "Ruby Skye's" success. Over the years, he has also performed at countless private events for such stars as Prince and Robin Williams.
By 2001 BB and good friend David Foley, CEO for Hyperware, Inc., ventured a partnership and created Possibility Records. Opportunities to work with some of SF’s local artists such as Kinetic Grooves, Redzone Records and others have kept BB even busier. BB’s tasty and unpredictable style has also gained recognition by Serious Records (UK), who picked up his original vocal track "DJ Party" which was later licensed by the video game company Roxor for the UK's version of Dance Dance Revolution arcade game called "In The Groove".
BB is back on track under a new label Deep Vision Media Inc. (Formerly Sandy Rivera) with his musical partners David Foley, Jason Ring, and music producer Bill Williams. In 2014 BB produced a 10 track EDM Christmas album which released in October of that same year.
In 2017 BB was booked for the final night of Ruby Skye before they closed their doors. Which marked an important night in BB's legacy.
He opened as resident Dj at Ruby Skye 17 years ago and appropriately was called to close it out on June 10th 2017.
Update: BB just finished his newest 6 song album called "Disclosure", being released in 2018.
Word is BB is setting up tour dates now.
