Nicky Romero Celebrates 100th Protocol Release With New Single “PRTCL”

Sometimes it seems like people will use any occasion as a cause for celebration, but the 100th release on your label is definitely one that fits the bill as a proper celebratory time. Nicky Romero is celebrating the 100th release on his label Protocol Recordings with a new single entitled “PRTCL” (that’s Protocol without vowels) featuring Spyder.

The song is a return to the classic big room sound, back toward 2011-2012 when progressive and big room were less easily distinguishable. It’s a pounding dance track with plenty of classic original elements, and a hefty dose of white noise right at the drop almost metaphorically imitating a cryo blast.

Romero told Billboard Dance, “It feels like the industry is craving original sounding records more than ever and that’s what I wanted to achieve with this milestone release. It’s an amazing feeling to have reached 100 releases on my own label and I want to thank all the producers, every person who’s been involved behind the scenes and of course my fans. Here’s to the next 100!”
