A concert scheduled during South by Southwest (SXSW) music festival was canceled after a terroristic threat came in Saturday afternoon.
Austin police have since arrested a 26-year-old man on charges for emailing a bomb threat. Trevor Weldon Ingram was taken into custody on conviction of the charge which could get him up to 10 years in prison.
The Roots were set to go on later that night, but sponsors promptly canceled the show upon receiving the threat. Nothing suspicious was found on site, but safety concerns were ultimately the reason behind the cancellation.
SXSW released a brief statement regarding the incident. Needless to say, safety comes first and the festival made the very best decision to keep fans safe.
The Bud Light x The Roots SXSW Jam at Fair Market has been canceled. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. #SXSW https://t.co/iLkmAcroAh
