Many music festivals have stepped up their game when it comes to law enforcement and security — and with Coachella Valley Music & Arts festival just around the corner, it’s doing the same.
In the wake of the horrific Las Vegas shooting at Route 91 Harvest music festival, event organizers aren’t taking any chances. Measures are being put in place by Coachella in order to protect its attendees at all costs.
Tried and true methods as well as new safety precautions will be enforced during Coachella 2018. Police force and security are expected to take training courses, specifically to help them identify any objects that might look out of the ordinary.
According to a source, metal detectors, pat-downs, surveillance, drones, and more are all part of the security plan as well. In the case of emergency, first responders will be on site with tourniquets and other medical equipment.
Staff are instructed to report anything even remotely suspicious, and festival goers should do the same. Acting with the following mantra will help keep people safe: “See something, say something.”
While safety is the #1 priority, there is much fun to be had. Coachella goes down over two weekends, April 13 – 15 and April 20 – 22, with headliners The Weeknd, Beyonce and Eminem. For a full EDM breakdown of the lineup, go here!
