Of all the amazing moments at EDC Las Vegas 2018, this one takes the cake. Tiësto paused his performance Saturday night at kineticFIELD to dedicate a portion of his set to Avicii.
Throughout the 12-minute dedication below, clips of the late legend flash across the screen along with footage of adoring fans from all over the world. “Make some noise for Avicii!” the producer shouts at one point.
In the epic tribute mix, Tiësto covers a lot of ground in a short time. He starts with “Waiting for Love” moving into “My Feelings for You” and then into Avicii’s wildly famous tracks “Seek Bromance” and “Levels.” The pause that lingers after that familiar track is so beautiful to hear, before the crowd explodes into applause.
Tiësto ends it all with a live performance of “Wake Me Up” featuring none other than Aloe Blacc. The energy felt across kineticFIELD reaches an all-time high at this point — for a tribute that’s nothing less than amazing.
