Ultra Europe concluded this past weekend in the town of Split, Croatia, with over 150,000 Ultranauts raring to go and excited for the weekend ahead of them. Unfortunately, the weekend was not without its share of bad apples and unfortunate losses.
Local Croatian media Total Croatian News reported 305 arrests over the course of the weekend, with the majority due to “disorderly conduct, narcotics and people who tried to enter without paying.” One individual in particular was found with 49 kgs of marijuana, packed into 47 individual plastic bags.
24 attendees had to be taken to the hospital, with 60 individual incidents needing attention at the event itself. One attendee, a 26-year-old American reportedly “fell ill” on Saturday and was taken to the hospital, where he died the following day. Cause of death is unknown at this time and is pending autopsy.
The festival was headlined by the likes of Hardwell, Axwell Ingrosso, David Guetta, and more. You can listen to sets here from Day 1 and Day 2 of the festival.
