Spotify Reveals 2018’s Most-Streamed Songs Of The Summer

Everyone has their own opinion as to what the 2018 song of the summer is — but Spotify has probably one of the best gauges for narrowing it down. When it comes to music streaming, these are the top songs of the season, globally and exclusively in the US.

This was definitely the summer of Drake. The rapper’s viral hit “In My Feelings” was streamed more than 393 million times between that sweet spot of  June 1 through August 20, earning it the number one spot on Spotify’s playlist. He also earned five total tracks on the global playlist, and seven of the most popular songs in the US.

Maroon 5‘s “Girls Like You” with Cardi B, “I Like It” by Cardi B featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin, Juice WRLD‘s “Lucid Dreams” and “SAD!” by XXXTentacion round out the top five global songs of the summer. The positioning flips a bit, and Drake’s “Nice For What” sneaks into the US top five.

When it comes to the most-streamed songs, hip hop is king. EDM does work in with Calvin Harris‘ “One Kiss” featuring Dua Lipa and with Tiësto and Dzeko‘s “Jackie Chan” featuring Post Malone and Preme, but it clearly has some catching up to do.
