Well, this is a huge bummer. Carmada has announced they are breaking up and the timing couldn’t be worse.
The duo, known for bangers like “Maybe” and “Embrace,” is splitting up due to creative differences that have grown over the last two years. Max Armata (Yahtzel) plans to take the reigns of Carmada, as Drew Carmody (L D R U) removes himself on the brink of a huge tour.
“I’m truly sorry to leave right before we had planned to head around the country together and see all your lovely faces,” Drew writes in a statement. “Trust me, I wouldn’t be doing this now unless it meant good things for everyone involved.”
It’s a bittersweet farewell, for sure. “Carmada has given us, without doubt, some of the best years our lives,” Drew says.
The good news is despite their differences, these guys remain friends. They both still hope fans will come “sweat it out” for the Club Carmada Tour over the coming weeks.
We did not see this one coming!
