Porter Robinson Opens Up About Grammy-Nominated Project Virtual Self

Porter Robinson‘s new project Virtual Self is up for a Grammy Award this year. Anyone who has heard “Ghost Voices” knows it has the potential to take home Best Dance Recording. As for Porter, he’s just excited about the nod.

“I felt like I won the moment it got nominated,” he revealed to Billboard. “It was more than enough, but I’m completely satisfied that Virtual Self got nominated for the Grammy. That is a complete victory for the project in my mind and anything else is just bonus.”

When it comes to Virtual Self, it’s all in the details. “I put a lot of effort in details for Virtual Self’s production,” he explained during a recent interview with Billboard Radio China. “Filling in many styles and details to present a very polished background story invigorated by the sound.”

It’s true. Listen to any Virtual Self track and it’s easy to hear the intricacies — the little moments that add up to form a larger-than-life production. It’s great to hear his work, particularly “Ghost Voices,” pay off with this Grammy nom.

Looking forward into 2019, the now Grammy-nominated artist plans on even more music releases and anticipates some collaborations with fellow producers.

In celebration of the Grammy nomination, Virtual Self is playing the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on February 9. Pre-sale goes live tomorrow at 11a PT (sign up for pre-sale code here) — general on-sale is Friday, January 11 at 11a PT.
