Kygo has been making waves all summer long — but one of the most notable moments came when he returned to NYC during Pride Month in June to perform at UTOPIA. It’s just been learned that the event brought in over $110,000 in funds for the LGBTQ community.
As an electronic headliner, Kygo definitely brought it. Not only did the DJ/producer throw down an amazing set, he took the event as an opportunity to debut his collaboration with the late queen Whitney Houston. “Higher Love” rang out at NYC Pride exactly 20 years after she performed at the same event.
According to Dancing Astronaut, the $110,000 will be distributed to LGBTQ charities and organizations. The Pride Month celebration, featuring Kiiara, Cirque du Soleil, JHART, Danny Verde, and more was all about the love — and now it’s truly making an impact.
