REPORT: EDC Las Vegas 2021 Moving To October

Though vaccinations in the US are advancing more rapidly than initially suspected, a lot of events will still have to wait a while longer before they’re able to hold shows at 100% capacity. The same applies to Electric Daisy Carnival which was originally scheduled to occur this coming May in Las Vegas, though now it seems it will be pushed back to October as was originally planned in 2020, as well.

According to a report from Vital Vegas, a source “confirmed” that vendors were being told the festival is being pushed back until later this year.

Most festivals only begin to break even once 60-70% of tickets are sold, and with the extreme production and pageantry used to produce EDC especially, that number is potentially higher. Without knowing exactly what Nevada’s restrictions will be regarding large-scale festivals in May, beginning now to set the stage for one of the country’s biggest festivals, electronic or otherwise, would be ostensibly putting the cart before the horse.

We’ve reached out to publicists for Insomniac for comment but have not heard back at time of publishing. We will update this article as soon as we do.

Vital Vegas says “we have been told an announcement will be forthcoming this week.”
