The mainstream launch of Apple‘s new iPhone X is being held up because of a major problem with one of its key features.
According to a credible leak via MacRumors, the most expensive, hyped up iPhone to date is experiencing significant issues with mass producing its “TrueDepth” camera sensor. That’s the technology that operates the Face ID facial recognition system, one of the most talked about perks of the cutting-edge smartphone design.
As a result, the prospected 2017 “super cycle” of the smartphone is being put on hold. Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo revealed to MacRumors that iPhone X will be extremely limited in stock for the time being, and well into next year.
The radically redesigned iPhone X will have to set its sights on 2018, because it unexpectedly missed its mark for 2017. This isn’t the first time Face ID has publicly failed…
