Virtual Self is back with a new music video! This time around, it’s for “Key.”
Having already released videos for a number of other tracks off his debut EP, including “Ghost Voices” and “Particle Arts,” “Key” comes not so much as a surprise but as a welcome sight. The song is already one of the most whimsical of the EP, and channels a lot of the DDR influence that Porter Robinson cited in the project’s creation.
The animation in the video itself feels like a background to a DDR level, so it fits the whole aesthetic perfectly. All of the shooting stars, crystalline formations, paired with the light piano notes and musical vocal chops combine to create their own small world… something Porter Robinson is very well-versed in.
