UpNorth Music & Arts Festival has finally made the announcement that many ticket buyers have been predicting for some time: this year’s festival will not happen. As recently as August 3, the festival was vehement in stating that the festival would go on with headliners Rezz, Louis The Child & G Jones.
The announcement was just made via the festival’s Facebook page, stating, “It is with a heavy heart that we inform you UpNorth Festival will not be happening this year.”
According to the festival, the owners for the original venue, after initially granting them permission to use their land for the event, became unwilling to work with them, for whatever reason. The festival went to their backup property, but was unable to “allocate the personnel needed to hold the event,” including EMS, fire department, production, and law enforcement.
The festival states that refunds will be given at your individual point of purchase.
