Radiohead’s Music Publisher Denies The Band Has A Lawsuit Against Lana Del Rey

Days ago, Lana Del Rey shared a social media post about a supposed lawsuit against her — particularly “Get Free,” off her album Lust For Life.

Apparently the issue in question, the song’s similarity to Radiohead‘s “Creep,” has not sparked a lawsuit. The band’s music publisher has spoken out to set the record straight, after the singer tweeted the following.

While “Get Free” undeniably has some similarities to “Creep,” Radiohead insists there is no lawsuit — at least not for now. A spokesperson from Warner/Chappell says the part about wanting “100% of the publishing” is untrue.

Official Radiohead Statement

“As Radiohead’s music publisher, it’s true that we’ve been in discussions since August of last year with Lana Del Rey’s representatives. It’s clear that the verses of ‘Get Free’ use musical elements found in the verses of ‘Creep’ and we’ve requested that this be acknowledged in favour of all writers of ‘Creep.’ To set the record straight, no lawsuit has been issued and Radiohead have not said they “will only accept 100%” of the publishing of ‘Get Free.’”
