EDM continuously brings together different genres and artists from all areas of music for collaborations we wouldn’t even dream of. For example, we weren’t planning on a Tiësto and Gucci Mane track, but “BOOM” here it is!
The legendary DJ/producer’s punchy hit with Sevenn has been taking over dance floors for some time now, but the equally legendary rapper adds an entirely new layer for a new, exciting track. Now that we’ve heard Gucci’s twist — it will be hard to listen to “BOOM” without his lyrics flowing atop the future house beat.
Tiësto explains how he and Gucci Man teamed up:
“My track “BOOM” is already a massive club hit, and I figured that it still had some room to grow with the right feature. I’ve always liked Gucci’s flow and music, so I approached him and he was down! This particular collaboration came together organically.”
As for collabs, they don’t always come about this easily:
“What I’ve learned about teaming up with other artists is that everyone’s ear is different and everyone has their unique approach to working with a track. I know my sound very well, which can make collaborations difficult because I’m not willing to compromise my style. But, when my collaborations work, they really work. This track is an example of that.”
