Vince Staples Calls Out the Haters by Starting GoFundMe to Retire Early [Video]

Vince Staples may be known by our readers as a rapper who has worked with Flume and SOPHIE, but he has a very consistent discography to his name. Plus, he’s hilarious. Staples’ latest antics find him starting a GoFundMe to call out his haters with a call-to-action: donate $2 million and he will retire early.

Vince Staples started his new GoFundMe today with a goal of $2 million. If Staples makes his goal, he pledges to move to Palmdale (a city north of LA), buy a Honda (we’re not sure on what Honda specifically), buy a year’s supply of soups for the “homies locked down” and buy a puppy. Accompanying Staples’ GoFundMe is a hilarious video, in which he explains that some people have complained about his live show and new musical direction. He even says one person called his new style as “rapping over robot video game beats.” The video is titled “#GTFOMD”; we’ll let our readers figure out the meaning of that acronym.

“On GoFundMe.com you can decide to donate to the cause of $2 million dollars, which will allow me to shut the fuck up forever and you will never hear from me again. No songs, no interviews, no anything. If not, you can choose to let me do what the fuck I want to do, when I want to do it. Get off of my dick, or fund my lifestyle. The choice is yours. Either way we appreciate you.”
