Only a year after their last album Humanz, Gorillaz return with a new album called The Now Now. This album experienced a particularly short time between being announced and being released, a period of only one month. In that time, Gorillaz managed to release a number of singles, including “Fire Flies” and “Hollywood,” with Snoop Dogg and Jamie Principle.
So far, response to the album has been generally positive. The most common praise of the album comes in that fans are happy to hear more of frontman Damon Albarn’s vocals. This is in stark contrast to Humanz, where it felt that the album had too many collaborators and drowned out much of the sound that Gorillaz had developed early on from Demon Days.
