Respect Celebrates 20 Year Anniversary with Ed Rush & Optical This Friday, March 1

There have been a lot of twists and turns in drum and bass over the past 20 years. Styles have changed, trends have come and gone and even new genres have been invented. A select few things about the scene, however, have weathered the various changes and emerged as pillars of the drum and bass community to become DnB institutions. Even fewer of those institutions exist in the U.S. scene, and LA’s weekly Thursday club Respect is by far the most well-known.

In a special event this Friday, Respect will be sharing its 20th birthday with another drum and bass institution, Virus Recordings, who’s also turning twenty. Label heads and legends in their own right Ed Rush & Optical will thus be headlining the show with a massive set at 1720 nightclub in downtown LA. If that weren’t enough, yet another legend, TC will also be a special guest.

Local legends will also hit the decks on Friday, with DJ Nightstalker throwing down a set and Machete himself and RAW going back to back. MC hosts will be XYZ, MC Questionmark, Dre and Dino. Get there early and stay till the end because every performer in the place will be smashing the vibes. Respect goes big every week, but for a double anniversary this big, it’s truly going to be a junglist massive.

For more info on the show, visit Respect’s Facebook page for the event here. Pre-sale tickets are available at TicketFly.
