The Sunday headlining spots for Tomorrowland have remained open since the full lineup first dropped some time ago, but now the festival has subtly added names to the W1 slot and fans are not having it.
While the possibility of Swedish House Mafia loomed overhead, Tomorrowland has added 3 Are Legend (Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike + Steve Aoki) to the headlining slot the first weekend. In addition, the time for the set has been reduced from 1h30 to just 50 minutes.
In combination with A$AP Rocky’s cancellation, Tomorrowland was forced to make some interesting decisions. Even more interesting that, apart from KSHMR, the festival hasn’t made any formal announcement about the slot.
For the fans, this booking is a loss for the festival. Steve Aoki is playing the main stage on Friday, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike are playing main stage on Saturday, so the choice to combine them comes across as lazy from the fans’ point of view.
There’s still a chance for SHM to close out Weekend 2.
The first weekend of Tomorrowland begins this Friday, July 19.
