Halloween Comes Early With 10th Installment Of Figure’s “Monsters” Series

Plenty of artists try to take advantage of the Halloween hype with mixes, music, tours, festivals, costumes, and myriad other things. One of the most well known in EDM is RL Grime’s annual Halloween mixes, in rotation since 2012. But another oft looked over artist who’s been doing the Halloween thing even longer, and with all original music, mind you, is Figure.

This year, Figure returns for the 10th in his series of Monsters albums, and this one could just be his best yet. For the longest time, Monsters 4 remained my favorite, with “Are You Afraid Of The Dark” and “Living Dead” just two of the massive tunes on that release.

Figure’s Monsters series puts himself ahead of the general curve by creating new, original music year after year inspired by classic and new horror films. Rather than just slapping a spooky mix together or showing up in costume, Figure lives Halloween year round, both on his body as tattoos and in his live TerroVision shows. His Monsters releases are just an extension of that ethos.

For the 10th in the series, “Phantom Of The Opera” and “Poltergeist” are just two of the tracks repping the old guard, while “The Crooked Man” is a relatively newer film, and also brings back Lexi Norton from “Are You Afraid Of The Dark.”

If you’re truly about Halloween and horror in dance music, you’d be doing yourself a disservice by not listening to Monsters 10. Check it out now below!
